BJP national president JP Nadda tests positive for coronavirus

Bharatiya Janata Party national president JP Nadda has tested positive for coronavirus. Nadda informed on Twitter that he is in home isolation.

Nadda, in a tweet, said he got himself tested on getting initial symptoms of coronavirus and that his reports have come back positive.

Nadda said his health is fine, adding that he is following all the guidelines in home isolation on the advice of doctors. He also requested those who have come in contact with him in the last few days to isolate themselves and get tested.

The BJP president was on a two-day visit to West Bengal earlier this week during which his convoy was attacked while he was on his way to the Diamond Harbour area.

Nadda’s convoy was attacked with stones and bricks while on its way to Diamond Harbour and cars of several party leaders including that of BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya and West Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh which were part of the convoy were also damaged in the alleged attack.

The attack on the senior BJP leaders had triggered a massive political war of words with the BJP and the Trinamool Congress (TMC) taking potshots at each other.

While the BJP demanded strict action in the incident, West Bengal chief minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee termed the saffron party’s cry as “nautanki” (drama).

Mamata Banerjee said that the BJP was indulging in drama to hog limelight as the party couldn’t manage to get people for their rally.
