Farmers’ Protest LIVE Updates: Farmers protesting against the Centre’s farm laws staged a day-long fast at various protest sites on Monday. The farmers have maintained that they will continue to hold protests till the government repeals the farm laws. Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has assured the farmers that the government is ready to discuss the farm laws clause by clause. The government has sent out a proposal to the farmers to hold the next round of talks with them. Narendra Singh Tomar also met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP MPs and MLAs from Haryana at his official residence. Thousands of farmers have been sitting in protest against the farm laws on the Delhi border areas since November 26. Protesting farmers have expressed apprehension that these laws would pave the way for the dismantling of the minimum support price system, leaving them at the “mercy” of big corporations.
