A three-member team of Central ministers started talks with farmers’ representatives this afternoon as protests over the Centre’s new farm laws intensified around Delhi. More farmers from Punjab and khaps from Haryana are making their way to the national capital to press in with their demand that the laws be repealed
Though the government is firm that the three laws will not be withdrawn, sources say the Centre will try to dispel concerns about the minimum support price and the mandis. There is a possibility that there will not be any breakthrough immediately and talks may continue for some time. The farmers have said the protests will continue if the government does not accept their demands
